Introduction
In this post I will be researching the media institution linked to mu chosen media brief (Warner Music Group), paying close attention to the type of company they are and the type of media products they produce. I will also be looking at how the institutions ethos is reflected within their products and how I can link this to my own productions. I think by understanding the institution linked to my chosen brief, it will enable me to produce a final produce that reflects their style, ideologies and ethos more effectively.
Research
Warner Music Group:
The institution is a major music company with interests in recorded music, music publishing and artist services. It is a subsidiary (a small business owned by a parent company also known as a conglomerate) being owned by Warner Bros. - Seven Arts between the years of 1967-1967. Having had multiple other parent companies between then and 2011. Their current conglomerate company being Access Industries from 2011 to present.
Warner Music Group is known as one of the "big three" recording companies, alongside the Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.
Warner Music Media makes most of their money from streaming - although the revenue for streaming is rising (due to the rise in technology and the ability to easily access media). Like other music companies, Warner Music Group isn't settling for rising steaming revenue and is using "safe harbours" that allow users to upload songs, using apps such as youtube.
In 2018, Warner Music Group announced that they surpassed $4 billion for the first time and that streaming revenue had increased by 20.4%. The Warner Music group has a market share of 25.1% as of September 2018 - their share being the largest of that year.
Being founded in 1958, 62 years ago, by Warner Bros. they employee 4,502 employees and own two small subsidiaries, known as Uproxx and Gold Typhoon.

Conclusion
After my research, I have decided that I will incorporate my chosen company's values, visions and mission statement through both my music video and my website.
With my mission statement, I will show this through my website, in specific creating a nurturing environment for the employees through every stage of their career. How I will show this would be by creating a "bloopers video" and publishing it on my website, full of some of the bloopers from producing the music video. In doing this I hope to represent the cast, to show that they are an important function of the production and that they are valued.
With my visual statement, I will use this through sound fidelity. By giving people the option to listen to the music video using surround sound, not only will it enhance the audiences musical experience by feeling captivated with the music and feel connected, they will also create the optimal environment for Warner Music Group's audiences. Using businesses like Dolby Surround is an example of rapidly evolving digital technology, which is aligned with Warner Music Group's vision. Audiences are using Alexa's, many common families investing in surround sound for family movies, or for a better experience with their media. By giving the option to watch the music video in a deeper and more valued experience will reflect the institutions vision.
Finally, with the values of Warners Music Group I will express them through honesty within my music video and website, in doing so for my website I will produce facts and possible dates related to my protest, i.e. 27,000 trees are cut down each day so we can have Toilet Paper.
