NEA Planning Part 3 - Product Style Profile
Introduction:
In this section I hope to sketch and plan out the process of creating my music video through going through the lyrics and combining the music videos I have studied as well as the music video for the song I am about to use to create a plan on how I am going to create my music video, to incorporate both real life and meaning.

When making this idea, I wanted to incorporate the use of nature and trees, so looking into the logo I decided that a tree, for my first idea, would be the best to work on. TTS stands for Take Their Stand, as the environment cannot stand up for itself and I wanted to have that message prominent within all of my logos. The tree was the easy part, but to have the message present was something I wanted to work on. Having used a basic font and placing it in front of the tree I further evolved the logo in hopes to make the message more incorporated with the tree. Therefore, I moved the message onto the trunk, editing the font to make it blend in, but still be prominent; however, the logo in my opinion did not stand out enough and I decided to edit the logo again a further time, thinking about how I could alter the logo but still keep the message clear. So I moved onto the leaves, using a font that made it blend in but also remain within the viewers eye, in hopes that it would not only look good but also fit into the idea of having it all there.

“TTS in the trees I cannot even read it properly but it looks nice”
“I like the evolution. The first logos colour scheme clashed but I like how the TTS merges into the trees. It gives the brand legitimacy. I cannot think of much to improve it. Maybe where it merges so much, maybe change the colour to a more autumn look to differentiate the TTS from the trees”

When making this idea I decided that I wanted to make the issue more global, as my message is environmental, not just about the trees. So I created a literal globe, in hopes to make the message more clearer, however. That for me was not enough, I made the logo so part of it was turning gray/darker colours to show the world’s wound, and to evolve further I added a plaster to the wound to show that we must allow the world to heal before we take action and before we ruin it anymore. With the TTS I decided to move it from the bottom of the globe stand to the top of the literal globe, to show that we are trying to care for the environment before that also goes, part of the S from TTS turning black to show that we feel the wound that the earth does, and that the earth affects us, as a society, as a community and as humanity we are effected by what happens to the earth.

“That looks nice. Kind of cute. Oh my god. Aww. Wow. Okay”
“I like the metaphor of using arts to show the goals and values. If I saw it I wouldn’t know it was TTS until I saw the logo. Maybe find a way to make the message more literal.

The last comment on my logo made me feel very passionate, so naturally I did make the message more literal. Making TTS the focus and using the letters to become the logo. At first it was just black with TTS, however I had an idea. We are taking a stand for the environment, a stand where we will not back down. We are “Taking Their Stand” because the environment cannot take that stand for themselves. And using another metaphor I decided that we will be like the trees. The trees that root themselves to the ground. Trees don’t fall unless provoked, and this tree shall not fall. Because trees are not supposed to fall until they die, and the purpose of this website is to show that we will not die until the environment is back to its former glory. So I decided to turn TTS into the tree we want to become. Adapting it to have roots, the foundation of our goals, to take the stand and spread the branches of our message and root ourselves onto solid ground. And that is what my final logo’s final message is about. And this will be the logo I use.

“You know what? I feel like I like this one. This is one of my favourites I'm going to be honest. I like this one because I can read it better”
“Your evolution here is really good. I cannot think of any criticism. I love the way it has become more of a tree as you go on. I think the message is a lot clearer.”

I decided that the photo wouldn't contribute much to my product and that i'd be better off explaining my product, so i replaced the photo with an about the video, describing the meaning and intentions of the video and what it means to the artist
I was happy with my intentions so decided to add a title, as i thought that by having a title it would state what the video is.

Conclusion:
Through going over the styles i hope to be pursuing and alternating it into a script, i now know how i am going to go about my music video. In hopes of following the structure and story line written above i hope to not lose the true meaning of the video. The music video is a protest on the environment and how humanity is destroying it. From using alleyway shots which are neglected and using the pit near the scout hut I hope to show how we are damaging the environment and how one act (of the main character putting the rubbish in the bin) can make a difference, and how one small act can help heal the earth. The feedback given from my peers has been enlightening and helped me to realise where i went wrong and how i could improve, and i hope that when i come to the practical of making my own website and music video i can utilise my skills in photography and produce the best piece of work possible.
